During 1981, our
company founder, Albert M. McCormack started a real estate practice on
Edisto Island, commuting from his office and home in Charleston until 1984
when an island office was established for Sea Island Realty. The practice
founded upon the principle of unfailing service to its clients and
customers grew and expanded into much larger offices near Edisto Beach in
1987. Continuing its successes, in 1994, we affiliated with a nationally
known franchise and shortly thereafter relocated to our present offices in
Jungle Road, Edisto Beach,
Although our offices are in the active beach
resort area, we continue a strong bond and knowledge of the historic
properties located on the island. Sales in 1999 qualify us to claim the
title as the local real estate broker to have sold the highest number of
plantations in the area.
Our choice to affiliate with South
Carolina’s Premiere Real Estate Sales System has resulted in untold
benefits. As members of a strong referral team we are able to find buyers
before our competitors, thereby closing sales faster. The Carolina One
Real Estate Association also keeps us abreast of state and regional real
estate trends. We are members of the Charleston Trident Board of Realtors
and Multiple Listing Service, South Carolina Association of Realtors, The
National Association of Realtors, Edisto Chamber of Commerce and
Walterboro-Colleton Chamber of Commerce.
Most of our Associates and
staff volunteer countless hours to Edisto Community Churches and
non-profit groups.
